Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio said investors can allocate 10% to 15% of their portfolios to gold to reduce risk, while raising exposure to gold and bitcoin versus debt assets such as bonds. He said a U.S. debt crisis could emerge within the next one to five years if the current path does not change. Dalio, whose net worth is estimated at more than $15 billion, also said in July 2025 that he held a small amount of bitcoin and suggested lifting gold and bitcoin allocations to as much as 15%.
