ChainCatcher, citing CoinDesk, reported that Ripple is trying to bring XRP and its stablecoin Ripple USD into the AI agent payment market. The move is aimed at the on-chain micropayment system that is currently still dominated by the dollar stablecoin USD Coin. Ripple’s approach centers on enabling automated payment functions for AI agents on XRP Ledger.
XRPL AI Starter Kit Targets Developers
Ripple has released the “XRPL AI Starter Kit,” a set of tools for developers to build payment capabilities for AI agents. Based on the disclosed information, agents can complete payments, check balances, and perform wallet operations on XRP Ledger. The kit also supports automated payment flows based on the x402 protocol, giving developers a framework for integrating and testing on-chain micropayment functions.
However, Ripple has not disclosed any scaled deployment customers, nor has it released real production-grade AI agent payment transaction data. At this stage, the initiative remains in an early phase focused on infrastructure and the developer ecosystem.
