According to CoinDesk, Ripple is attempting to bring XRP and its stablecoin Ripple USD into the AI agent payments market. The effort is aimed at entering an on-chain micropayments system that is currently still led by the dollar stablecoin USD Coin.
Ripple has released the “XRPL AI Starter Kit,” a developer toolkit designed to help build payment capabilities for AI Agents. The kit enables agents to make payments on XRP Ledger, query balances and handle wallet-related operations. It also supports automated payment flows based on the x402 protocol, giving developers a foundation for building on-chain micropayment functions.
Ripple has not disclosed any large-scale deployment customers, nor has it released real production-level AI Agent payment transaction data. Based on the information currently available, the initiative remains in an early stage focused on infrastructure and developer ecosystem exploration.
