Robinhood reported record results for the second quarter of 2026, with net revenue reaching $1.308 billion, up 32% year over year, and net income attributable to common shareholders rising 45% to $561 million. Diluted EPS came in at $0.62, above the market expectation of $0.42. Trading remained the main growth engine, led by event contracts revenue of $156 million, which increased more than tenfold from a year earlier. Stock trading revenue jumped 95% to $129 million, options revenue rose 29% to $342 million, while crypto trading revenue fell 38% to about $100 million. Robinhood also reported growth in funded customers, total platform assets, net deposits, and Gold subscribers. Beyond core brokerage activity, the company highlighted expanding contributions from products such as Robinhood Credit Card, Robinhood Strategies, Agentic Trading, and Robinhood Chain. In its earnings presentation, Robinhood said 13 of its business lines are now generating more than $100 million in annualized revenue, pointing to a broader push beyond retail trading toward a more integrated financial platform.

Robinhood on July 30 Beijing time released its financial results for the second quarter of 2026, reporting record net revenue of $1.308 billion, up 32% from a year earlier. Net income attributable to Robinhood common shareholders reached $561 million, up 45%, while diluted earnings per share came in at $0.62, above the prior market expectation of $0.42.

The company’s quarterly growth was driven by trading, customer assets and subscription income. Transaction-based revenue rose to $776 million, up 44% year over year. Net interest revenue reached $389 million, up 9%. Other revenue totaled $143 million, up 54%. Odaily said that growth in other revenue reflected Robinhood’s effort to expand income sources through services including the Trump account and Gold subscriptions, reducing reliance on a single trading business.

Trading led the quarter, with event contracts standing out

Trading was the clearest driver of Robinhood’s second-quarter performance. Revenue from trading reached $776 million, up 44% and accounting for the largest share of the company’s overall revenue growth.

By segment, stock trading revenue was $129 million, up 95% from a year earlier. Options trading revenue came in at $342 million, up 29%. Event contracts, effectively Robinhood’s prediction market business, generated $156 million, rising more than 10x. Crypto trading revenue was about $100 million, down 38%, making it the only major trading category to post a decline.

Platform activity also increased. Robinhood said second-quarter equity notional trading volumes reached $956 billion, up 85% year over year, while options contracts traded rose to 774 million, up 50%.

Odaily described prediction markets as one of the most notable themes in the quarter and the business line Robinhood is now pushing most aggressively.

Rothera became a new pillar in Robinhood’s prediction market push

According to the report, prediction markets have gained momentum this year and saw a sharper surge during the World Cup cycle, with Robinhood accelerating its expansion at the same time.

In the second quarter, Robinhood launched its in-house prediction market platform, Rothera. The venue was established by Robinhood and Susquehanna International Group and holds a CFTC license, operating as both a prediction market exchange and clearing institution.

During the World Cup cycle, Robinhood shifted some orders that had previously been routed to Kalshi over to Rothera. Data from Artemis showed the move helped Rothera capture nearly 15% of the market share in World Cup-related event contracts.

Odaily said prediction markets carry a stronger event-driven profile than traditional stock trading and better fit younger users’ demand for real-time information and trading interaction. For Robinhood, that means not only new revenue but also a wider set of trading scenarios on the platform.

Customer assets and subscription business kept expanding

Outside trading, Robinhood’s asset-gathering business continued to grow. By the end of the second quarter, funded customers reached 28.4 million, up 7% year over year. Total platform assets rose to $369 billion, up 32%. Net deposits for the quarter were $21.7 billion, up 28%, while net deposits over the past 12 months reached $75.7 billion.

Robinhood Gold continued to post fast growth. Gold subscribers reached 4.8 million in the second quarter, up 39% and marking a record high.

Products aimed at higher-value users also began to scale. Robinhood Credit Card now generates more than $100 million in annualized revenue, and Gold Card users have surpassed 1 million. Robinhood Strategies has attracted more than 300,000 users, with assets under management nearing $2 billion.

In its earnings presentation, Robinhood said 13 business lines are now producing more than $100 million each in annualized revenue. Those include stock trading, options trading, crypto trading, Gold subscriptions, prediction markets and credit cards. Odaily framed that shift as evidence that Robinhood is moving away from a platform tied mainly to trading cycles and toward a broader ecosystem spanning trading, asset management, payments and financial services.

AI and blockchain became part of the next buildout

Alongside brokerage and wealth products, Robinhood is also extending into AI and blockchain.

In May, Robinhood announced Agentic Trading, a feature that allows users to trade stocks, options and crypto assets through AI agents. By the end of the second quarter, nearly 100,000 users had opened Agentic Trading accounts, with related assets topping $100 million.

Odaily said Robinhood wants to embed AI directly into the investment process, using automated analysis and trading assistance to increase usage frequency. Agentic Trading is still early, but the pace of adoption suggests AI has become another product expansion path for the company.

Robinhood is also stepping up its blockchain push. In the second quarter, it launched the Robinhood Chain public mainnet, positioned as an Ethereum Layer 2 network for real-world assets, or RWA. The report said that, helped by the recent meme market cycle, Robinhood Chain has become one of the more active base-layer ecosystems in the current Web3 market.

From retail brokerage to a broader financial app

The main shift in Robinhood’s second-quarter results was not limited to higher revenue and profit. Odaily argued that the company’s growth model itself is changing.

Robinhood previously leaned on low-barrier trading to attract younger investors and scaled quickly through stock, options and crypto trading. It is now widening that model through Gold subscriptions, credit cards, prediction markets, AI-based trading and blockchain products. In Odaily’s telling, Robinhood is trying to move beyond a simple trading platform and become a broader financial app covering investing, wealth management, digital assets and more financial service scenarios.

The report also noted the challenges ahead. New businesses are still in their early stages, and whether they can generate sustained revenue at scale remains to be seen. At the same time, the regulatory environment for prediction markets, crypto assets and onchain finance could affect Robinhood’s pace of expansion.

Even so, Robinhood’s Q2 results show a company no longer content with the role of an internet broker serving retail traders, but one trying to position itself as a next-generation financial gateway.
