Jamie Selway, Director of the SEC's Division of Trading and Markets, revealed at the Piper Sandler Global Exchange & FinTech Conference that Chairman Paul Atkins has directed the division to move forward with building a framework for the listing and trading of tokenized securities. The guiding principle, he noted, is to “foster innovation without creating regulatory arbitrage.”

In parallel, the SEC is closely collaborating with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to align their regulatory policies and jointly assess multiple new product proposals as well as areas where existing rules lack clarity or compatibility. These coordinated steps signal a concerted effort by U.S. regulators to establish clearer compliance pathways for digital assets, providing institutional support for tokenized securities.
