The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s framework for tokenized stocks is running into resistance from issuers, according to CoinDesk. Broadcom and Verizon have objected to having their shares traded on the planned OKX-ICE venue, adding to a broader list of companies pushing back against the proposal. CoinDesk said eight more companies also raised objections to trading on the platform. Separately, Nasdaq has said it would opt out under the SEC’s framework. The dispute adds another layer of friction to efforts to bring tokenized versions of public equities into a regulated trading structure, with objections now coming not only from market operators but also from the companies whose stocks would be involved.
