Securitize shares climbed sharply in early Tuesday trading after the tokenization platform said it had signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korean technology company LG CNS. The stock rose nearly 8% to around $12.60 before giving back part of the move later in the morning. The agreement centers on building tokenized asset products and digital asset infrastructure for South Korean financial institutions, with the companies naming tokenized funds, stocks and stablecoins as initial areas of focus. The timing is notable because South Korea is moving toward a formal regime for tokenized securities. The country’s Financial Services Commission last week proposed rules for the issuance and circulation of tokenized stocks, bonds, funds and other securities, with the framework scheduled to take effect in February 2027. The partnership could give Securitize an early position in a market that is preparing for regulatory rollout. The announcement also comes as tokenized equities gain traction more broadly. RWA.xyz data cited in the report put the tokenized stock market at roughly $3.2 billion, up 10.6% over the past 30 days, while the wider tokenized real-world asset market has grown to about $40 billion.

Securitize shares moved higher on Tuesday after the company announced a partnership with South Korean technology firm LG CNS, a deal that arrives as South Korea prepares a new framework for tokenized securities.

Securitize (SECZ) rose nearly 8% in early trading to about $12.60. The stock later pulled back part of those gains during the morning session. The company started trading on the New York Stock Exchange in July after completing its merger with special purpose acquisition company Cantor Equity Partners II.

Securitize and LG CNS target South Korean financial institutions

Securitize and LG CNS signed a memorandum of understanding to develop tokenized assets and digital asset infrastructure for financial institutions in South Korea. The companies said they will explore tokenized funds, tokenized stocks and stablecoins, while also looking for opportunities across the broader Asia-Pacific market.

The agreement comes as South Korea moves closer to a formal rulebook for tokenized securities. Last week, the country’s Financial Services Commission proposed rules covering the issuance and circulation of tokenized stocks, bonds, funds and other securities. The framework is set to take effect in February 2027.

That timing could give Securitize an early foothold in South Korea as local financial institutions prepare for the new regime. LG CNS also launched a blockchain infrastructure platform on Tuesday designed to help banks and other financial companies support stablecoins and tokenized securities.

Tokenized stocks are gaining ground

Securitize has become a major participant in the tokenized real-world asset market, which has grown to roughly $40 billion. Much of the market’s early expansion was concentrated in US Treasurys, private credit and other yield-bearing assets. Tokenized stocks are now starting to take a larger share.

The tokenized equity market has repeatedly reached record highs as exchanges and financial institutions test ways to bring traditional equities onchain. According to RWA.xyz data cited in the report, tokenized equities were valued at about $3.2 billion, up 10.6% over the past 30 days.

Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo has said that even modest adoption could have a much larger effect on crypto markets. Speaking at ETHConf in July, Domingo said tokenized stocks could help push the overall crypto market to a $5 trillion valuation.
