WuBlockchain’s WhiteLine Daily highlighted four developments on Aug. 29. First, after Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh spoke at the 2026 Jackson Hole global central banking symposium, market pricing for a September rate hike rose from about 35% the previous day to nearly 60%. Warsh said the Fed may still need to act if underlying inflation does not return to the 2% target quickly enough, while noting a 4.1% unemployment rate, financial conditions that are hard to call restrictive, and a 3.7% reading for the Fed’s preferred PCE inflation gauge. Second, Changxin Memory announced formal mass production of its next-generation LPDDR6 memory, with Xiaomi 18 Fold set to be the first device to carry it. Third, laser chip maker Yuanjie Technology reported strong first-half 2026 results, with data center revenue up 640.29% year over year to 774 million yuan, accounting for about 84% of total revenue. Fourth, OpenAI said it plans to end its direct model supply contract with AI coding tool Cursor on Nov. 12, while Reuters reported that Anthropic will increase Claude model and compute support for Cursor.

WuBlockchain’s WhiteLine Daily said the day’s main focus was the rise in rate expectations alongside fresh progress across the semiconductor and AI supply chain.

September hike odds climb after Warsh speech

Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh said in a keynote address at the 2026 Jackson Hole global central banking symposium that the Fed may still need to take further action if underlying inflation does not return to the 2% target quickly enough.

Warsh said the labor market remains relatively stable, with the unemployment rate at 4.1%, and that overall financial conditions are difficult to describe as restrictive. At the same time, the Fed’s preferred PCE inflation gauge is still at 3.7%, and policy should remain focused on price stability.

He did not explicitly commit to a September rate hike. Even so, market expectations for tighter policy moved quickly after the speech. The probability of a September hike rose from about 35% the previous day to nearly 60%, the 2-year U.S. Treasury yield climbed to around 4.35%, its highest level in a month, the dollar strengthened, and U.S. stocks edged lower.

WhiteLine Daily said the speech did not amount to a promise of a September move, but it turned that meeting back from a low-probability event into a real hike risk. If upcoming employment and inflation data remain firm, the report said, expectations for a September hike could push short-end yields even higher.

Changxin Memory confirms LPDDR6 mass production, Xiaomi 18 Fold to launch first

On Aug. 29, Changxin Memory announced that its new-generation LPDDR6 memory has officially entered mass production and will first ship in Xiaomi’s 18 Fold flagship foldable phone.

Xiaomi Chairman Lei Jun also said the company’s in-house flagship processor, Xuanjie O3, is the first to support Changxin LPDDR6. Changxin said the product reaches a peak speed of 12,800 Mbps and a maximum chip capacity of 16GB.

WhiteLine Daily noted that in its Aug. 28 half-year report, Changxin had still described LPDDR6 as being in sample verification with key customers while mass production was being accelerated. One day later, it formally confirmed both mass production and its first end-device customer.

The report said Xiaomi’s role as the first launch partner, together with first support from the Xuanjie O3 chip, amounts to a full mass-production validation for Changxin across both a flagship system-on-chip and a flagship smartphone.

Yuanjie Technology says data center revenue rose 640.29%

Yuanjie Technology released its 2026 first-half report. The company focuses on the research, design, and production of optical chips, with core products including semiconductor laser chips used in data centers and telecom networks. It serves as an upstream chip supplier for high-speed optical interconnects in AI data centers.

The company posted 925 million yuan in revenue for the first half, up 351.4% year over year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company came in at 607 million yuan, up 1212.2%.

Data center revenue reached 774 million yuan, up 640.29% from a year earlier and accounting for about 84% of total first-half revenue. Revenue from the telecom market was 148 million yuan, up 48.63% over the same period.

The company said demand for semiconductor laser chips has continued to benefit from AI development, and that rapid growth in the data center business was the main reason behind the increase in earnings for the period.

WhiteLine Daily said that of Yuanjie Technology’s 925 million yuan in first-half revenue, 774 million yuan came from data centers, showing that AI optical interconnect has become the company’s dominant revenue driver.

OpenAI moves to end direct model supply to Cursor; Anthropic expands Claude support

OpenAI said it plans to terminate its direct model supply contract with AI coding tool Cursor and aims to stop service on Nov. 12.

According to the report, Cursor was recently acquired by SpaceX. OpenAI said that after the change in control, it could not confirm that its technology would continue to be used in line with contractual terms, so it decided to trigger the termination clause and will not provide future new models to Cursor.

Existing users, however, can still use OpenAI models inside Cursor through their own OpenAI API key, the Codex IDE plugin, or third-party gateways.

Reuters also reported that Anthropic has said it will increase both Claude model support and computing capacity support inside Cursor.

WhiteLine Daily said OpenAI is ending its direct supply arrangement with Cursor rather than cutting off all user access to OpenAI models within the product. What is being reshuffled is Cursor’s official model entry point, and Anthropic has already started increasing Claude support to compete for that traffic.

Main thread for the day

WhiteLine Daily said rates are once again acting as an external constraint on technology stocks, even as company-level delivery in AI and semiconductors continues. Changxin secured mass-production validation through a flagship handset, Yuanjie’s data center business has become its main source of revenue, and Cursor’s model distribution is starting to shift. The market now has to absorb both higher rate expectations and improving technology fundamentals.
