The Bank of Korea stated that the country's leading position in memory chip production capacity is expected to widen further, driven by active domestic facility expansions by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. New fabs set to start production by 2028 are projected to add around 600,000 wafers per month to South Korea's total capacity.

The Bank of Korea said on September 4 that South Korea's advantage in memory chip production capacity is poised to increase further, thanks to aggressive expansion of domestic manufacturing facilities by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix.
