Odaily reported that Strategy founder Michael Saylor addressed the discussion around “Strategy selling Bitcoin” during the BTC Prague event. Saylor said he had never stated that the company was unable to sell Bitcoin. According to his clarification, his long-running message has been directed at investors, urging them not to easily sell the Bitcoin they personally hold, rather than saying that Strategy itself can never sell Bitcoin.

Saylor said that anyone who has followed Strategy’s earnings calls or public disclosure documents over the past five years should understand the company’s position. He stated that Strategy has always made clear that, when necessary, the company can of course sell Bitcoin, and that this wording has not changed.

The remarks draw a distinction between Saylor’s statements aimed at individual Bitcoin holders and the company’s own asset-management position. In his explanation, the “do not sell” message refers to investors’ personal Bitcoin holdings, while Strategy’s public filings and earnings-call language leave room for the company to sell Bitcoin when necessary.
