According to Techub News, citing crypto.news, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has approved NYSE Arca’s application to list and trade an actively managed crypto ETF from T. Rowe Price. The fund is designed to invest across multiple crypto assets rather than focusing on a single token. Its eligible investment universe includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Dogecoin and Shiba Inu.
An actively managed structure benchmarked to FTSE Crypto US Listed Index
The fund will typically hold between 5 and 15 eligible assets. It uses the FTSE Crypto US Listed Index as its benchmark, but it will not operate purely as a passive index-tracking product. Instead, the ETF follows an active management strategy, with the stated objective of outperforming the benchmark index. This gives the issuer room to allocate within the eligible crypto asset range rather than simply replicating the index composition.
The SEC also set compliance conditions for the issuer. These include adherence to firewall rules, and trading may be halted if portfolio holdings information is not disclosed to all market participants at the same time. The product is described as one of the first actively managed ETFs in the U.S. market that can invest in multiple categories of crypto assets.
