Tencent has officially launched the WorkBuddy open platform, making its Agent capabilities available to hardware vendors, industry application developers, and third-party developers. The first phase opens up five types of capabilities: Buddy apps, experts, Skills, connectors, and hardware. More than 100 co-creation partners have already joined the platform.

Hardware Takes Center Stage

The most notable change in this release is the hardware integration. Nine co-branded smart hardware devices have been unveiled, with partners including Plaud, Rokid, Insta360, iFLYTEK, Anker, Momax, and JD-made. Taking the Rokid AI glasses as an example, the demonstrated use cases include organizing data, capturing market quotes, searching information, and writing weekly reports. The glasses not only handle Q&A but also serve as a task entry point for WorkBuddy.

30+ Industry Applications Across Multiple Sectors

Additionally, more than 30 industry applications have been integrated, covering over 20 fields such as finance, legal, healthcare, education, and public welfare. Tencent launched the Buddy AI Ecosystem Co-creation Program in June with only 23 initial partners. Now with the platform officially open, the number of partners has expanded to over 100.

Liu Yi, Vice President of Tencent Cloud and head of CodeBuddy and WorkBuddy, said the goal is to make WorkBuddy the 'operating system for the Agent era.'
