Tesla has opened reservations for the Roadster on its U.S. website, while its China website has also started taking bookings with a narrower offering. According to BlockBeats on Oct. 16, the U.S. site lists a $50,000 reservation deposit for the Performance version. Buyers are required to pay $5,000 upfront, with the remaining $45,000 due within 10 days. The Thrust version carries a $250,000 reservation deposit, including an initial $5,000 payment and the remaining $245,000 payable within 10 days. The Rocket version is currently available by invitation only. On Tesla’s China website, Roadster reservations are also open, but only for the Performance version at this stage. The reservation deposit there is set at 332,000 yuan. The update shows different reservation arrangements between Tesla’s U.S. and China platforms, with the China site offering fewer version options for now.
