According to Odaily, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino announced in a post on X that the number of self-custody wallets created with WDK open-source technology has surpassed 100,000. The milestone shows that the open-source wallet development tool is being applied in real crypto infrastructure, while the scale of users and developer adoption in the self-custody ecosystem continues to grow.
WDK expands across device environments
WDK is an open-source wallet development kit supported by Tether. It is designed for the creation and deployment of self-custody wallets and can be integrated into any device. The supported environments include embedded systems, mobile operating systems, desktop operating systems and server operating systems.
Ardoino’s update places the 100,000-wallet figure at the center of WDK’s latest progress. As more wallets are created with the kit, the use of open-source wallet development tools in practical crypto infrastructure continues to expand within the self-custody sector.
