Odaily reported that Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino announced on X that the number of self-custody wallets created with WDK open-source technology has surpassed 100,000. The figure was shared through Ardoino’s public post and refers to wallets built using the WDK technology stack.
WDK expands across device environments
According to the information disclosed, WDK is an open-source wallet development kit supported by Tether. It is designed as a toolkit for wallet-related development and can be integrated into any device environment, ranging from embedded systems to mobile, desktop, or server operating systems.
The milestone of more than 100,000 self-custody wallets created with WDK shows that open-source wallet development tools are being applied in practical crypto infrastructure construction. The original statement also said that the user base of the self-custody ecosystem and developer adoption continue to grow, with WDK serving as one of the technical components supported by Tether.
