Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who has long pushed for strict enforcement of gambling laws, received donations from prediction market Kalshi in 2025. His political action committee accepted $5,000 in May 2025, and Paxton personally received $7,000 from Kalshi CEO Tarek Mansour in June 2025. According to Politico, after these donations, Paxton refrained from participating in multiple legal actions initiated by other state attorneys general aimed at restricting Kalshi's operations, notably the timing of the donations and the subsequent inaction.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, long known for pushing hard on gambling law enforcement, got donations from prediction market Kalshi in 2025 and then stayed out of multi-state legal actions against the platform, Politico reported. In May 2025, Paxton's political action committee took a $5,000 donation from Kalshi. Then, a month later in June 2025, Paxton himself received a $7,000 donation from Kalshi CEO Tarek Mansour. After those donations, Paxton did not join several legal actions brought by other state attorneys general that were meant to limit Kalshi's operations.
