The Tezos ecosystem is set to return to Cannes, France, on March 30, 2026, for the fifth annual Tezdev 2026 conference. This free event coincides with the Ethereum Community Conference, bringing together global developers and creators to showcase blockchain innovation. This year's flagship addition is the XP Zone, an interactive environment designed to bridge the gap between abstract code and concrete experience. Attendees can enter a unique 360-degree immersive room to interact in real-time with projects scaling on the network.
From Listening to Participating: Tezquest Hands-On Challenges
To boost engagement, the event introduces Tezquest, a series of practical challenges hosted at various project booths. With a prize pool of $7,000, participants can compete while exploring innovations from a diverse set of ecosystem leaders. Linda Witters, Senior Marketing Manager at Trilitech, emphasized that this shift is intentional. “TezQuest has been designed as the interactive layer of TezDev, turning the event into a series of hands-on experiences rather than talks,” Witters stated. “Instead of just listening to presentations, attendees are encouraged to explore ecosystem projects, complete challenges, and engage directly with teams building on the Tezos platform. … It reflects a broader shift in crypto events toward participation over passive attendance, especially as products mature and become more user-centric.”
Specific challenges include designing market-making strategies with decentralized exchange Hanji and playing the latest mobile games being deployed on-chain. Other participating projects include Ledger, Uranium.io, and Sogni. Art on Tezos and Fortify Labs will showcase the creative community and the next generation of Tezos accelerators.
Technical Breakthroughs: Tezos X, Etherlink Speed, and AI Integration
According to the press release, this year's program shifts focus from theoretical infrastructure to practical applications. Tezos founder Arthur Breitman will deliver a keynote address reflecting on the network's next phase, emphasizing how products and user experiences must evolve to drive global adoption.
Technical sessions will unveil Tezos X, the network's ambitious scalability plan. Highlights include Nomadic Labs' François Thiré explaining how Tezos solves coordination across different execution environments at the protocol level. Engineers will discuss Etherlink's recent achievements, including the reduction of transaction confirmation times from approximately 500 milliseconds to under 50 milliseconds.
Additionally, Nomadic Labs' Yann Régis-Gianas will showcase how AI agents are integrated directly into the Tezos software development lifecycle. A panel with Trilitech's Ben Elvidgen will explore the transition from proof-of-concept to real-world asset liquidity.
Ecosystem Boom: Etherlink TVL Surges 6,200%, NFT Continues to Lead
The conference comes after a transformative year for the ecosystem. Etherlink, Tezos' EVM-compatible Layer 2, saw its total value locked surge over 6,200% following the launch of the Apple Farm incentive program. This growth was fueled by major industry protocols such as Uniswap deploying through OKU, Gearbox, and Lombard Finance.
Tezos art continues to dominate the "pure" NFT space: in 2025, it recorded over 500,000 sales and secured significant institutional partnerships with the Processing Foundation and Museum of the Moving Image. The day will conclude with an immersive art exhibition celebrating generative and on-chain artists who have made Tezos a premier destination for digital culture. Notably, Tenx Protocols expanded into the Tezos ecosystem by acquiring 5.54 million XTZ worth $3.25 million in January 2026, further integrating Tezos' governance model.
