Poseidon has entered a partnership with Korean mobile financial platform Toss that will bring roughly 30 million users into the AI data economy. Under the arrangement, Poseidon’s contributor app Numo will launch inside the Toss app, allowing users to submit Korean-language voice, image, and video data for AI training and receive payment based on what they contribute. The deal marks Toss’s first step into the AI data segment.
Numo inside Toss links data contribution with payment
The partnership combines data collection, contribution tracking, and payout in one consumer-facing flow. Poseidon supplies the infrastructure that measures each submission and its value, while Toss provides the user reach and payment experience. The companies are aiming at a problem the AI sector has struggled to solve: how to source and license training data from real people, then compensate those contributors in a way that can be verified.
DATA network records each submission with a public audit trail
Each contribution made through Numo will be registered on the DATA network, where Poseidon refines data. DATA uses its public audit layer, Trace, to keep a verifiable provenance trail for every record. That gives buyers visibility into where a training asset came from, while contributors can confirm that their work was counted and paid. The report says DATA Foundation launched this week through the rebrand of Story and is building the layer with integration partners including human data marketplace Kled. Poseidon is described as one of the larger sources of refined data flowing into the network.
Focus on hard-to-source real-world first-person data
Numo collects first-person data captured by real people in real environments. This category is presented as one of the hardest to obtain and among the most valuable, especially for physical intelligence systems used in robotics, autonomous vehicles, and related applications. According to the report, demand from global AI labs for this kind of material is rising. Poseidon and Toss plan to test the model in Korea first, then take it to international markets.
Poseidon cites funding and existing network activity
Changhoon Seo, Executive Director of New Business at Toss, said the growth of the AI industry is driving demand for high-quality data and that Toss wants to create an environment where users can participate in the data economy more easily while being rewarded transparently for the value they provide. Poseidon Chief Strategy Officer and Chairman SY Lee said Korea is one of the few markets that combines the strategic importance of AI data, a mature financial system, and a strong mobile experience.
Poseidon describes itself as AI data infrastructure focused on sourcing, refining, and licensing real-world datasets that the open internet cannot supply. The company, incubated by the team behind The DATA Network, has raised a $15 million seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). It also said Numo has recorded more than 711,000 data registrations globally and is now available through the Toss app.
