Approval remains within the same range
According to the report, Trump’s overall approval rating has stayed within a 34% to 40% range since U.S. military action against Iran began in February, without a significant improvement. The latest 37% reading continues that pattern and shows that the preliminary ceasefire arrangement between the United States and Iran has not immediately changed how the public views his broader performance in office.
On the Iran war specifically, the 34% approval figure remains below Trump’s overall approval rating. Although the United States and Iran have reached a preliminary agreement related to ending the war, the polling results show that the public still has clear doubts about the objectives of the war and the effectiveness of the policy.
Majority says the military action went too far
The poll found that 53% of respondents believe U.S. military action in Iran “went too far.” That share is down by 6 percentage points from March, but it still represents a majority of respondents. The result shows that while the proportion viewing the action as excessive has declined, skepticism toward the scale of the military action remains the dominant view in the survey.
The survey was conducted from June 11 to June 17 among about 3,040 U.S. adults, with a margin of error of ±2.8%. The report said that despite the preliminary ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran and short-term economic relief such as lower oil prices, the Iran conflict and the energy price volatility it has brought remain among the key factors affecting evaluations of Trump’s economic and foreign policy performance.
