ChainCatcher, citing Jinshi, reported that UBS Global Wealth Management has revised its expectations for the Federal Reserve’s rate-cut timetable. The institution has pushed its forecast to March and June 2027 and no longer expects any rate cuts this year.
UBS Global Wealth Management said the change reflects its view that this week’s Federal Reserve meeting will deliver a hawkish signal. Under its latest forecast, the Fed is expected to cut rates by 25 basis points in March and again by 25 basis points in June next year.
The Federal Reserve is scheduled to announce its interest-rate decision this week, with the market widely expecting rates to remain unchanged. UBS analysts said the tone of the meeting will be more hawkish, and that major central banks will not shift toward dovish policy because of the U.S.-Iran agreement.
