UMX, a crypto-friendly securities platform incubated by Avenir Group, officially launched on Oct. 16 after a public testing phase that began on Aug. 10. The platform said it received 788 pieces of product feedback during the beta period, with 89 user requests incorporated into the production release. UMX is positioning the launch around a single-account structure that lets users trade real Hong Kong and U.S. stocks, ETFs, U.S. stock options and crypto assets while moving funds across securities, crypto and fiat balances. It also introduced a unified cross-asset margin system that, according to the company, allows users to buy stocks directly while holding stablecoins or other digital assets. The company said the product was shaped by needs identified while managing Li Lin’s family office and later refined with input from experienced users and institutional trading teams. UMX also rolled out a launch promotion tied to wealth management products, offering an iPhone Duo to eligible users, while new users can receive up to 100 USDT in rewards, VIP7 fee privileges and Level 2 real-time market data for Hong Kong and U.S. stocks after completing specified onboarding and trial tasks.

UMX, a crypto-friendly securities platform incubated by Avenir Group, officially launched on Oct. 16. The company said that since its public beta began on Aug. 10, it has collected 788 pieces of product feedback, and 89 user requests have been implemented in the formal release.

After launch, users can trade real Hong Kong and U.S. stocks, ETFs, U.S. stock options and crypto assets under a unified account system, according to the platform. UMX said users can also move funds across securities, crypto assets and fiat balances and use a unified cross-asset margin framework, enabling what it described as buying stocks directly while holding U or other digital assets.

A product built from family office demand

UMX said the idea for the platform came from practical needs identified by Li Lin and his team while managing a family office. In cross-asset allocation, the team said it repeatedly ran into the same issue: when an investment strategy spans multiple markets, capital often fails to move at the same speed as the strategy itself.

According to the company, holding assets in one account does not mean having immediate purchasing power in another market. Pre-funding can leave capital fragmented and idle. Moving money only when needed can mean going through currency conversion, deposits and withdrawals, and waiting for settlement. The company also said repeated operational coordination, slow responses to product requests, and concerns over information security and privacy have weighed on the asset management experience.

UMX said these issues extend beyond a single team and affect many high-net-worth investors and institutional traders. It said the platform was eventually created out of its own needs as well as repeated requests from industry peers.

Beta feedback shaped the formal release

The company said it kept professional users closely involved in refining the product during the beta phase. Experienced industry participants and institutional trading teams submitted hundreds of requests based on live trading use cases, covering capital routing, margin rules, cross-market risk controls and the trading experience.

UMX said a meaningful share of those requests went through evaluation and development and is now available in the formal version. The company described the resulting product as a complete cross-market trading system built through repeated beta testing and real-world use.

Three core features in the released version

One-stop access to real Hong Kong and U.S. securities

UMX said the platform covers Hong Kong and U.S. cash equities, ETFs, U.S. stock options, and margin financing and securities lending services. Securities trading is provided through regulated licensed brokerage partners and held within a central securities custody framework, according to the company. Investors hold the underlying listed securities and are entitled to shareholder rights such as dividends and position transfers, it said.

Crypto trading with unified margin

Within the same account, UMX supports a unified margin system across crypto spot, leveraged trading, futures and crypto options, the company said. It added that eligible flexible and fixed-term wealth management assets can also be used as trading margin. Cross-market assets are measured under a single risk-control framework to reduce capital splitting across accounts and improve capital efficiency.

Cross-asset transfer tools and crypto-backed credit

UMX said the platform provides stablecoin conversion and transfer functions, crypto asset lending transfers, and what it described as an industry-first crypto-backed credit model. In the company’s description, when trading opportunities appear in the securities market, users do not need to sell BTC or ETH first or wait through deposit and withdrawal processes. Instead, they can pledge crypto assets and obtain buying power for Hong Kong and U.S. stocks directly.

Launch campaign includes iPhone Duo and user rewards

Alongside the official rollout, UMX introduced a launch promotion. The platform said users who meet wealth management thresholds can receive the latest iPhone Duo. New users who complete specified registration and trial tasks can also get rewards of up to 100 USDT, VIP7 fee privileges, and Level 2 advanced real-time market data for Hong Kong and U.S. equities.

UMX said the platform is now live and open for registration. More product details and information on the launch campaign are available on its website at www.umx.com.
