Chip, optical networking and storage stocks trim premarket losses as SK Hynix ADR rises 3.61%

U.S. premarket trading showed a rebound from session lows across semiconductor, optical networking and storage names on July 17, according to market data from BIT (bit.com). Storage shares led the recovery. SK Hynix (SKHY) rose 3.61% after having fallen nearly 4% earlier, while Sandisk (SNDK) turned positive and gained 0.70%. Micron Technology (MU) also moved back into positive territory, up 0.07%. Semiconductor stocks were still down overall, but losses narrowed for several large names. ASML (ASML) fell 0.98%, Broadcom (AVGO) slipped 1.85%, Marvell Technology (MRVL) lost 1.96%, Nvidia (NVDA) dropped 2.49%, and KLA (KLAC) was down 2.94%. In optical networking, declines also eased. Semiconductor, optical networking and storage stocks clawed back from session lows in U.S. premarket trading on July 17, with several names sharply narrowing earlier declines, according to market data from BIT (bit.com).

Storage names moved up first

SK Hynix (SKHY) rose 3.61% after falling nearly 4% earlier in the session. Sandisk (SNDK) reversed losses and gained 0.70%, while Micron Technology (MU) also turned positive, up 0.07%.

Among other storage-related stocks, Seagate Technology (STX) cut its loss to 1.69%, and Western Digital (WDC) was down 1.84%.

Semiconductor stocks remained lower, but off their lows

ASML (ASML) narrowed its decline to 0.98%. Broadcom (AVGO) fell 1.85%, Marvell Technology (MRVL) lost 1.96%, Nvidia (NVDA) dropped 2.49%, and KLA (KLAC) was down 2.94%.

Optical networking stocks also trimmed declines

Lumentum (LITE) fell 1.61%, Nokia (NOK) lost 1.73%, Corning (GLW) dropped 2.18%, Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) was down 2.63%, and Astera Labs (ALAB) fell 3.01%.
