U.S. equities finished Wednesday modestly higher, according to market data from BIT (Bit.com), with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.22%, the S&P 500 gaining 0.21%, and the Nasdaq rising 0.16%. The standout move came from Moderna, which jumped 176.9%, while Merck added 12.6% after the two companies said their jointly developed personalized mRNA cancer vaccine, intismeran autogene, formerly known as mRNA-4157/V940, combined with Merck’s immunotherapy drug Keytruda, met the primary endpoint and key secondary endpoint in the Phase III INTerpath-001 trial for patients with high-risk melanoma. Semiconductor-related names showed mixed trading, with Marvell Technology up more than 9.8%, SK Hynix up 0.35%, Sandisk down 3.5%, and Micron Technology off 0.39%. Crypto-related stocks also posted strong gains. Strategy rose 11.95% to $103.58 after climbing more than 13% intraday. Coinbase gained 9.05% to $159.47, stablecoin issuer Circle advanced 9.44% to $78.50, and Ethereum treasury company BitMine rose 9.68% to $20.05.
