Visa said on Oct. 21 in San Francisco that it is launching three new capabilities focused on commercial card growth, virtual card security and business payment automation. The tools are aimed at financial institutions, fintech companies and enterprises.
Darren Parslow, global head of Visa Commercial Solutions, said businesses are speeding up automation across payment-related work, from identifying supplier opportunities to approving invoices and executing transactions. He said the new capabilities are meant to provide the data, security and controls required for that process.
Three products announced
The three capabilities are SESA 2.0, Visa Commercial Fraud Solutions, and live pilots with billing platform BILL and accounts receivable platform Billtrust.
SESA 2.0
SESA 2.0 combines AI-based supplier scoring, Visa commercial payment data, buyer benchmarks and business value modeling. The product is designed to identify suppliers that are more likely to accept commercial cards and estimate growth opportunities.
Visa said SESA has helped financial institutions identify more than $600 billion in potential cardable spend since it was launched.
Visa Commercial Fraud Solutions
Visa Commercial Fraud Solutions covers supplier verification, 3-D Secure authentication for commercial virtual card users, and transaction-level controls across spending, merchant category, location and time.
Visa said payment controls are already available to eligible issuers in supported countries and regions. The other two functions are still in pilot and are planned for full rollout in 2027.
Live pilots with BILL and Billtrust
Visa also said its pilots with BILL and Billtrust are now live. In those pilots, trusted AI agents can initiate and help complete payments for approved invoices through supplier portals using tokenized payment credentials instead of shared supplier portal login credentials.
