Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin published a blog post disclosing that the Ethereum Foundation (EF) has reduced its budget by 40% this year. This reduction target was clearly stated in the financial management policy formulated last year: the Foundation is transitioning from a traditional operational organization to a long-term investment-oriented endowment institution.

In the blog post, Vitalik detailed the transformation roadmap. According to the plan, before 2026, the Foundation's annual spending will account for approximately 15% of its remaining funds; after 2030, this ratio will be reduced to a target of around 5% per year. This means the Foundation will significantly cut day-to-day operational expenses, shifting toward long-term investment for capital preservation and appreciation, thereby more sustainably supporting the development of the Ethereum ecosystem.
