According to MarsBit, WeChat Pay has launched an AI-exclusive card designed as a separate small wallet isolated from the user’s main wallet. The feature is connected to AI Shopping and AI Agent scenarios, allowing spending requests to be initiated in environments such as Workbuddy.
Manual confirmation remains part of every payment
The test information shows that the WeChat AI card does not remove the user from the payment process. Even when an AI Agent starts a purchase flow, each payment still requires manual confirmation by the user. In practice, the card functions as an independent payment entry outside the main wallet, rather than a fully automated payment mechanism.
At the current stage, the AI card is mainly suitable for standardized digital services, including paid content, API calls and subscription services. More complex daily-life services, such as ordering milk tea, still cannot be completed reliably from end to end because those scenarios involve broader fulfillment steps beyond a simple digital transaction.
