BlockBeats reported on June 21 that, according to monitoring by OnchainLens, the whale address “0xa2e” opened a new short position in Ethereum. The position totals 23,000 ETH and is valued at approximately $39.64 million under the monitoring data. The trade uses 20x leverage, and the reported liquidation price is $1,832.43.
The position shows that the address has established a leveraged short exposure to Ethereum. A short position is designed to profit when the referenced asset declines in price, while leverage increases the nominal exposure of the trade and magnifies changes in profit and loss. If the market price reaches the liquidation level, the position faces forced closure. In this case, OnchainLens identified $1,832.43 as the liquidation price for the position.
The same monitoring update also stated that since June 10, whale “0xa2e” has made more than $3.15 million in profit solely from trading Ethereum. That figure links the newly opened 23,000 ETH short position with the address’s recent Ethereum trading record. The original update did not provide further details on the address’s other transactions.
