ChainCatcher reported that, according to monitoring by on-chain analyst Ember (@EmberCN), a whale address increased rather than reduced its short exposure after ETH’s recent rebound. The address once again borrowed 9,000 ETH from Aave, transferred the ETH to Binance, and withdrew 16.37 million USDT after completing the sale.

Total Short Position Reaches 44,000 ETH

The monitoring data shows that the address has now accumulated a short position of 44,000 ETH, valued at about $78.89 million based on the disclosed figures. Its average short-selling price is $1,702. Aave is an on-chain lending protocol, while Binance is a crypto trading platform; in this transaction, the borrowed ETH was sent to Binance for sale, and the proceeds were withdrawn in USDT.

As ETH has risen, the position is currently showing an unrealized loss. Ember’s disclosed data puts the floating loss at about $3.08 million. The key figures in this update are the newly borrowed 9,000 ETH, the transfer to Binance, the 16.37 million USDT withdrawal, and the address’s total short position of 44,000 ETH.
