ChainCatcher reported that, according to monitoring by on-chain analyst Ember, a whale has cleared a position of 1,105 BTC that had been held for about seven months. The bitcoin was valued at $69.43 million, and the move resulted in a realized loss of $26.9 million.
The whale had withdrawn BTC from Binance and OKX to on-chain addresses between last November and this February, at an average price of $87,181. In the latest move, all of those BTC were transferred back to Binance, completing the exit from the position.
In crypto markets, a whale generally refers to an address or holder controlling a large amount of digital assets. The disclosed monitoring details focus on the holding period, the full transfer to Binance, the 1,105 BTC amount, the dollar value of the position, and the realized loss.
