BlockBeats reported on June 20 that, according to monitoring by on-chain analyst Ai Yi (@ai_9684xtpa), a whale has fully exited a position of 112.86 WBTC. The address originally bought the WBTC on April 14, described as the starting point of a market upswing, at an average purchase price of $71,655. The total value of the purchase was about $8.08 million.
The position once showed an unrealized profit of more than $1 million in mid-May, but the whale did not sell at that time. The address later closed the position in batches on June 16 and seven hours before the report, with an average selling price of $64,723.
Based on the reported entry and exit prices, the position shrank by 10% over two months, resulting in a loss of $782,000. WBTC is a commonly used Bitcoin-pegged asset on-chain, and large transactions by whale addresses are often tracked as part of on-chain fund-flow monitoring.
