ChainCatcher reported, citing monitoring by Onchain Lens, that a whale deposited 5.5 million USDC into HyperLiquid. After the deposit, the address opened long positions involving 120,000 HYPE and 6,193 ZEC, with different leverage levels applied to the two positions.
The monitored data shows that the whale used 10x leverage for the HYPE long position and 3x leverage for the ZEC long position. A long position generally refers to a trade structured around upward price exposure to the asset in question, while leverage increases the effective size of the position and the related risk. In this case, the disclosed positions were linked to HYPE and ZEC, with USDC deposited into HyperLiquid as the funding asset.
Onchain Lens also monitored that the same whale closed an ETH long position at the same time, realizing a profit of $396,000 from that ETH trade. The information reported by ChainCatcher focuses on three actions: the 5.5 million USDC deposit into HyperLiquid, the leveraged long positions in HYPE and ZEC, and the profitable closure of the ETH long position.
