Blockchain monitoring platform Onchain Lens identified a long-dormant Bitcoin whale address that suddenly activated after five years, depositing 602.26 BTC into Binance. The deposit was valued at roughly $37.81 million at the time of the transaction. On-chain data confirms the wallet had no outgoing activity for half a decade before this move, netting the owner an estimated $30.66 million in unrealized gains. Based on current valuation and the reported profit, the whale’s original acquisition cost for these coins would have been around $7.15 million—representing more than a 4x increase over the five-year holding period. While it is not yet clear whether the whale intends to sell immediately, such large inbound transfers to exchanges are typically associated with a readiness to liquidate.
