ChainCatcher reported, citing monitoring by Onchain Lens, that a whale has opened a 20x leveraged short position on Ethereum. The position currently holds 23,000 ETH and is valued at $39.64 million based on the disclosed figures. The liquidation price for the position is $1,832.43.
The whale has made more than $3.15 million from ETH trades since June 10
Onchain Lens data also shows that since June 10, the whale has generated more than $3.15 million in profit through both long and short ETH trades. The newly disclosed position is on the short side of Ethereum. With 20x leverage, price movements have a stronger effect on the position, amplifying both gains and losses.
The liquidation price is a key risk level for a leveraged position. If ETH reaches the relevant liquidation threshold, the position faces the risk of forced closure. The disclosed information covers the whale’s current position size, direction, value, liquidation price, and past profit from ETH long and short trades, but it does not include any future adjustment plan.
