Market maker Wintermute has increased its bearish bets, according to monitoring data cited by PANews. Onchain Lens said Wintermute is doubling down on short positions while also moving large amounts of funds to Binance. The firm has added millions of dollars to Hyperliquid and expanded its total short exposure from $146.19 million to $190.77 million. Its current unrealized loss stands at $5.85 million. The five largest short positions are concentrated in ETH, BTC, SOL, HYPE, and XRP, with ETH making up the biggest single position at $53.02 million. BTC follows at $30.66 million, while SOL stands at $22.62 million. HYPE and XRP account for $11.43 million and $10.19 million respectively. The update points to a larger directional short stance by Wintermute across several major crypto assets.
