Cybersecurity company WISeKey has completed a legal reorganization that moves its domicile from Switzerland to the British Virgin Islands, and on Oct. 1 formally changed its name to WISeQey Corp. through a merger. The company said its operating headquarters and core business activities remain in Switzerland.
Existing WISeKey securities will continue trading through the close on Oct. 2. WISeQey common shares are expected to begin trading at the open on Oct. 5 on both Nasdaq and the SIX Swiss Exchange under the ticker WQEY. Under the conversion plan, each WISeKey ADS will be exchanged for 0.5 WISeQey common shares, while each Class B share will generally convert into one common share.
WISeKey said its business spans cybersecurity, digital identity, semiconductors, space-based internet of things and blockchain connectivity products. The group is also advancing post-quantum security and decentralized infrastructure. According to the announcement, the reorganization is intended to simplify its public market structure.
