World Chain to Launch Full Block Access List on Mainnet Aug 17

World Chain will introduce a complete block access list on mainnet on August 17, enabled via a runtime flag without requiring a network-wide hard fork. It claims to be the first production L2 to stream EIP-7928 access list data within each flashblock, transmitting data every 200 milliseconds. The upgrade targets 1 gigagas per second throughput without raising validator hardware requirements, with internal tests showing stable validation latency on standard cloud infrastructure.

World Chain will activate a full block access list on mainnet on August 17, enabling the feature through a runtime flag and avoiding the need for a coordinated network-wide hard fork, according to ChainCatcher.

The network says it will become the first production L2 to stream EIP-7928 access list data within each flashblock. The feature transmits access list data every 200 milliseconds, letting validators verify transactions in parallel during block construction.

The upgrade aims to reach up to 1 gigagas per second of throughput without raising validator hardware requirements, World Chain said.

EIP-7928 is an Ethereum improvement proposal that introduces block-level access lists, which record the accounts and storage slots touched during block execution.

Internal tests at World Chain show that validation latency remains stable as throughput climbs to 1 gigagas per second on standard cloud infrastructure.
