YoungHoon Kim, a South Korean individual who claims to be the 'world's highest IQ record holder,' has stated on social media platform X that he has converted all of his assets into Bitcoin. He predicts Bitcoin will grow at least 100-fold within the next decade and eventually become the world's 'ultimate reserve asset.'
At the time of his statements, Bitcoin was trading at approximately $114,000. If his forecast materializes, each Bitcoin would exceed $10 million by the mid-2030s. Kim further shared a photo of himself meeting Matt Prusak, president of American Bitcoin, a mining firm associated with the Trump family.
Disputed IQ Claims
Kim has claimed an IQ of 276, far beyond the limits of standard psychometric scales (which typically lose reliability above 160–200). Independent verification is lacking; organizations such as the GIGA Society and the United Sigma Intelligence Association (which Kim co-founded) have touted his record, but mainstream psychologists and high-IQ communities dismiss the figure as implausible. Vice and other outlets have reported difficulty finding credible evidence for Kim's alleged test results.
Skepticism from Financial Analysts
Financial analysts are cautious about Kim's Bitcoin forecast. While crypto adoption has grown in recent years, few institutional projections call for a 100× increase in the next ten years. Even the most bullish forecasts from major investment firms typically project 5× to 20× gains under favorable conditions. Kim's extreme prediction is seen as more of a faith statement than a realistic forecast.
Faith and Social Media Presence
Beyond finance, Kim is outspoken about his Christian faith, declaring in mid-2025 that 'Jesus Christ is God, the way and the truth and the life.' His posts, blending religion, high-IQ branding, and crypto evangelism, have generated both attention and controversy on social media. This unique personal branding ensures Kim remains a figure of interest, even as the veracity of his IQ claims and investment predictions continues to be questioned.
