zkPass has released the tokenomics for its native token ZKP, which will be issued on the ERC-20 standard with a total supply of 1 billion tokens. The allocation framework shows a strong emphasis on community distribution, with 48.5% of the total supply reserved for community-related release programs, making it the largest allocation category in the model.
Community receives the largest allocation
According to the disclosure, 12.5% of the total supply will unlock at the Token Generation Event (TGE). Another 6% will be released linearly over the first three months, while the remaining 30% will be distributed monthly over the following five years. This structure suggests that while an initial portion will enter circulation at launch, most of the community allocation will follow a long-term release schedule.
Investors and contributors face lock-up periods
zkPass said 22.5% of ZKP is allocated to early investors. These tokens will remain locked for 12 months and then be released linearly over the next 18 months. Meanwhile, 14% of the supply is earmarked for core contributors, subject to a longer vesting schedule: a 24-month lock-up followed by 24 months of linear release.
This type of vesting framework is often used to align investors and contributors with a project’s longer-term development timeline and to reduce the chance of large amounts of supply entering the market at once. Based on the announced figures, zkPass has defined clear lock-up and vesting rules for both stakeholder groups.
DAO treasury and liquidity provisions
In addition, 10% of the total supply will be assigned to the DAO treasury, with tokens released linearly over five years. Another 5% is designated for liquidity, and that entire portion will be fully unlocked at TGE.
Overall, zkPass’s ZKP tokenomics outline a distribution model centered on community participation, long-term vesting, treasury support, and market liquidity. With the total supply fixed at 1 billion, the project has provided a clearer view of how ZKP may enter circulation over time.
