According to Techub, developers can use World ID to confirm that a real person is behind an AI agent, then cryptographically bind that proof to a device so the agent can interact with downstream services on the user’s behalf. Okta said the launch addresses a shift in identity risk as AI agents proliferate and begin accessing services autonomously. In that setting, traditional authentication methods are no longer enough to handle newer forms of risk. Human Principal is designed to connect an agent’s identity with a verifiable human. Okta also said World ID’s privacy-preserving design and decentralized properties are central to verifying human identity in this model.
