SpaceX to Join Nasdaq 100 on July 7, Expected to Drive $4.3 Billion in Passive Inflows
Nasdaq confirmed that SpaceX (ticker SPCX) will be added to the Nasdaq 100 Index on July 7, 2026, potentially bringing in about $4.3 billion in passive fund inflows from index-tracking ETFs like QQQ and QQQM. SpaceX went public on June 12 and is being fast-tracked despite a $4.9 billion net loss last year, thanks to relaxed listing requirements. Morningstar and some fund managers question its valuation. Meanwhile, OpenAI and Anthropic are expected to file IPOs this year or next, seeking valuations above $1 trillion. S&P Global said it will not consider SpaceX for the S&P 500 for at least 12 months.
