The comment came after policy chief Kim Yong-beom faced criminal accusations tied to the rushed introduction of leveraged ETFs. Separately, regulators last Friday raised the minimum cash margin requirement for single-stock leveraged ETFs, and trading in those products has since cooled. The Korea Exchange said the average daily trading value of 16 such ETFs fell to KRW 919.8 billion on Wednesday, the first drop below KRW 1 trillion since their May 27 listing.

Stock-themed meme coins on BNB Chain have moved into focus after Binance Wallet added a dedicated "Stock Meme" section on Aug. 1, grouping related tokens from BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain. Web3 AI operating system project DAPPOS has released the tokenomics for DOS, its native token, with total supply set at 1 billion tokens on Ethereum. The project has not announced a specific token generation event, or TGE, date. Under the allocation plan, 20% of the supply will go to the team, 22.5% to investors, 20% to the ecosystem, 20% to the treasury, 11.5% to marketing, and 6% to airdrops. Team and investor allocations will both be locked for 12 months before unlocking linearly over 48 months. Other categories have separate release schedules, including partial unlocks at TGE for the ecosystem, treasury, marketing, and airdrop allocations. Foresight News had previously reported that DAPPOS raised $15.3 million in a Series A round in March 2024 at a $300 million valuation, after raising $5 million in a seed round in July 2023 at a $50 million valuation.
