Crypto week ahead: U.S. payrolls, Revolut’s USDT delisting, and multiple service shutdowns

The coming week brings a dense slate of macro, regulatory, and project-specific events for the crypto market. The U.S. will release August unemployment and nonfarm payrolls data on Sept. 4, the last payrolls report before the Sept. 15-16 Federal Open Market Committee meeting. Revolut has confirmed that it will delist USDT on Aug. 31, citing regulatory and risk-compliance considerations, after already stopping purchases and suspending deposits earlier in the process. A wave of project shutdowns and service closures is also scheduled, including HyENA, Printr, Vision, Summer.fi, NFTfi, TON bridge-v3, Cosmostation Wallet, and Cypher. Several token unlocks are on the calendar as well, including SUI, EIGEN, ENA, OPN, and HYPE. Other items to watch include the G20 technology ministers’ meeting in North Carolina, Vietnam’s new crypto penalty rules taking effect, the launch of Russia’s digital ruble, a proposed Secret Network migration to Arbitrum, Binance’s planned delisting of ICX, SCRT, and STORJ, and Pakistan’s deadline for virtual asset service providers to file licensing applications.

Secret Network mints about 1.079 billion SCRT in v1.26.0 upgrade after Proposal 365 passes

Secret Network, a Cosmos-based privacy blockchain, minted about 1.079 billion SCRT in a one-time issuance through its v1.26.0 upgrade on Aug. 21 after Proposal 365 was approved, according to CryptoSlate. The move was designed to keep the network operating before SCRT Labs ends development and related support for the chain on Sept. 1. After the upgrade, total SCRT supply rose to roughly 1.443 billion. Existing holders kept the same absolute balances, but their combined share fell to about one-quarter of the total, implying roughly 75% dilution. The newly issued tokens were allocated across the foundation, core development, ecosystem funding, advisors, research and development, validators, builders, relayers, and remediation purposes. The v1.26 token model also made about 308.4 million SCRT liquid on the first day and set ongoing inflation at 5%. Earlier, the community had rejected SCRT Labs’ Proposal 360, which involved a snapshot tied to a migration to Arbitrum.

Trump presses for CLARITY Act at White House crypto event as Hyperliquid push lifts HYPE

A White House crypto gathering set the tone for the day’s market and policy headlines. U.S. President Donald Trump urged Congress to move the CLARITY Act forward, calling it a powerful market-structure bill, while saying Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chair Michael Selig is working to bring Hyperliquid into the U.S. in a fully compliant way. HYPE rose more than 20% over 24 hours following those remarks. The event came ahead of the first meeting of the CFTC’s Innovation Advisory Committee, which is scheduled to cover crypto regulation, AI in trading and compliance, and prediction markets. At the same time, Coinbase said it has integrated Hyperliquid into Base App to offer perpetual futures trading to eligible users with up to 50x leverage in supported jurisdictions. Outside the policy story, VanEck said Bitcoin has triggered eight of its 12 capitulation indicators, suggesting the market is approaching historical bear-market bottom zones, though not necessarily a confirmed bottom. PANews’ daily roundup also highlighted Unitree’s launch of a 7-axis bionic robotic arm starting at 9,900 yuan, fresh ETF flow data, new funding deals across AI infrastructure, and several project updates spanning Berachain, Nethermind, Aligned, Linera and Flop Labs.
