India’s NCB busts alleged dark web drug network Team Kalki with Binance and DSCI support
India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has dismantled the alleged dark web drug network Team Kalki, according to ChainCatcher. Binance and the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) supported the probe with blockchain analytics and wallet tracing, helping investigators follow crypto fund flows, identify linked wallets, and freeze related crypto assets. Investigators said the network used the encrypted communication platform Session, the dark web forum Dread, and “dead drop” delivery methods to distribute drugs sourced from international suppliers. Law enforcement also seized thousands of narcotics items from domestic and international parcels tied to the network. Binance APAC head S.B. Seker said blockchain’s transparent infrastructure allows law enforcement to track and investigate illicit transactions more effectively. Binance CEO Richard Teng said in a post on X that Binance and DSCI assisted the NCB by tracing on-chain fund flows connected to the alleged operation.
