Foresight’s weekly Web3 briefing tracks the rebound, crypto controversies and new project moves

Foresight News’ latest weekly Web3 roundup maps out the stories that drove discussion across the crypto market, split into three broad tracks: the rebound in token prices, the week’s most debated industry incidents, and a set of project-focused updates. On the market side, the publication said Bitcoin logged an intraday peak gain of more than 26% during the latest leg up, while spot ETF inflows, tightening ETH exchange balances and a new U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission proposal on public crypto token sales helped shape sentiment. ENA, LIT and PENGU were highlighted as some of the names that drew the most attention. The industry section moved from macro views to disputes and enforcement. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, speaking at Bitcoin Asia 2026, discussed Bitcoin’s long-term path, tokenization and AI-driven financial infrastructure. Elsewhere, livestream allegations from Chinese influencer Dishi, scrutiny around the backer of WLFI, Machi Big Brother’s highly leveraged trade, a Shanghai police crackdown on an underground foreign-exchange operation involving virtual currencies, and workplace allegations against Hack VC all featured prominently. The project segment covered YZi Labs’ fourth EASY Residency cohort, Coinbase’s tokenized stock rollout on Base, and Entropy’s push into Hyperliquid’s HIP-3 market. Together, the list offered a snapshot of the themes that dominated the week in crypto.

Former Hack VC partner Hsin-Ju says she rejected hush settlement and will publish evidence on Aug. 26

Former Hack VC partner and platform lead Hsin-Ju said she has rejected a settlement agreement that required her to remain silent, adding that she would rather accept $0 in compensation and has dismissed her lawyers. She said she plans to release all evidence from her time at Hack VC on Aug. 26. In her statement, Hsin-Ju said she has worked in crypto for nine years and previously held roles at Stellar, Solana, and Fhenix. She alleged that while at Hack VC last year, she repeatedly asked to leave because of serious medical emergencies, including Graves' disease, hyperthyroidism, and severe insomnia. She said partners threatened that she would be blacklisted from the industry if she left before certain meetings were completed, and that the pressure forced her into sustained overwork that ended in a suicide attempt. Hsin-Ju also said that after the attempt, she stated in writing that she did not intend to sue and only wanted to leave without retaliation. She claimed Hack VC then mishandled her COBRA health insurance for nearly four months until lawyers stepped in. Hack VC said it is aware of the post, is deeply concerned about her health, and believes there are major differences in how the two sides understand what happened.

Former Hack VC partner says she rejected settlement, plans to release evidence on Aug. 26

Former Hack VC partner and platform lead Hsin-Ju said on Aug. 24 that she had rejected a settlement proposal from Hack VC and would publish evidence related to her time at the firm on Aug. 26. In earlier statements, she alleged that she was required to keep working despite a medical emergency and was threatened with being blacklisted from the industry if she resigned before an event was completed. She also accused the firm of mishandling her health insurance after her departure and continuing to pressure her during legal discussions. Hsin-Ju said she has since dismissed her lawyer and would rather forgo any settlement payment than keep the matter private. Hack VC later responded on X, saying it had seen the post and was deeply concerned about Hsin-Ju’s health. The firm added that its understanding of the matter differs significantly from Hsin-Ju’s account, but said it does not want to discuss details publicly at this stage out of respect for privacy.
