trade.xyz launches Event contracts to enter prediction markets

trade.xyz has rolled out Event, a new product that marks its formal move into prediction markets, according to an official announcement cited by BlockBeats on Sept. 11. The company said the offering will cover sports, politics, economics, and financial markets, with more categories and contract structures set to be added over time. The launch ties prediction-style trading to trade.xyz’s existing perpetual futures infrastructure rather than relying on a separate external pricing system. The platform said users can deposit spot BTC, borrow USDC through portfolio margin, open a pre-IPO SpaceX perpetual position, hedge an upcoming SK Hynix earnings event through event markets, and take positions on the U.S. Open champion. trade.xyz added that its earlier Up/Down markets, described as similar to binary event contracts, already span equities, commodities, and pre-IPO markets. Those markets are backed by the depth and liquidity of trade.xyz perpetual contracts on HIP-3, while the perpetuals themselves provide continuous price discovery and serve as the settlement source.

Google commits €13 billion to AI infrastructure in Finland as oil and Treasury yields climb

Google said it will invest at least €13 billion in Finland over the next two years to build new data centers and related digital and energy infrastructure, marking its largest single investment in Europe to date. The company also signed a 22-year power purchase agreement with Fortum that can cover as much as 50% of the output from the Loviisa nuclear plant, while adding 629 MW of onshore wind and a 94 MW battery storage system. Fortum said the agreement could lift comparable return on net assets by about 1.4 percentage points, and its shares rose as much as 15.5% after the announcement. Elsewhere, Brent crude stayed above $100 a barrel and the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield touched 4.85%, while reports from The New York Times and Reuters said the U.S. Justice Department is examining Nvidia’s roughly $17 billion licensing deal with Groq. OpenAI’s South Korea lead also said the company is working with Samsung Electronics on next-generation chips, though key details including process technology, order value and production timing were not disclosed.

RootData says stock derivatives became a core growth engine for crypto exchanges in 2026

RootData’s latest report says stock derivatives moved from a fringe product to one of the main growth drivers in crypto exchange TradFi offerings in 2026. Based on the firm’s monitoring of major sample exchanges, cumulative stock-derivatives contract volume from Jan. 1 to Aug. 25 reached nearly $1.75 trillion, while monthly volume climbed from about $11.6 billion in January to more than $600 billion by August. The report links the latest acceleration to AI hardware names such as SanDisk, SK Hynix and Micron, along with a wave of stock and leveraged ETF listings by leading exchanges in July and August. RootData also compared Binance, OKX, Bitget and Bybit across trading volume, open interest, order-book depth, spreads and product coverage. Binance led in turnover, average OI and depth, while Bitget posted the tightest weighted spreads and the broadest contract lineup. OKX was described as more selective, and Bybit as still expanding its presence in the segment. RootData argues that exchange competition in stock derivatives is shifting away from simple volume races toward a broader balance of cost, liquidity, product breadth and capital retention.

Treasury buyback move fails to calm bond sell-off as oil tops $100 and U.S. stocks extend losses

U.S. stocks fell for a third straight session as rising oil prices, weak long-end Treasury sentiment and pressure on rate-sensitive equities drove trading. Brent crude settled at $101.21 a barrel and WTI at $96.05 after the U.S.-Iran conflict escalated, while CTA positioning in both contracts jumped sharply, according to Bridgeton Research Group under Kpler. The U.S. Treasury raised its long-bond buyback cap to $6 billion, below market expectations of $7 billion to $10 billion, and the bond market sold off anyway. A $39 billion 10-year Treasury auction cleared at a record 4.834% with a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.71, pushing the 10-year yield to about 4.85% and the 30-year above 5.30%. In equities, storage, optical communications and AI-linked names outperformed. Meta rose after unveiling its personal AI agent Muse, while Apple slipped after introducing the foldable iPhone Duo. Investors are now watching the European Central Bank decision, U.S. August PPI data and a $22 billion 30-year Treasury auction.

Whale wallet adds MU take-profit orders from $1,050 after setting SK Hynix exits

TradingBeats said on Sept. 10 that a wallet starting with 0xc8b5, which previously made nearly $11 million in profit on SK Hynix, has spent the past two days placing take-profit orders across its storage-related long positions. The combined scale of those orders reached $34.708 million, covering both SK Hynix and Micron positions. At 15:41 the previous day, the address placed 100 reduce-only sell orders for SKHX between $1,450 and $1,500, totaling about 9,663.8 units worth roughly $14.254 million. TradingBeats said those orders remain active and broadly cover the wallet’s entire SKHX long exposure. At 00:39 today, the same address added another 100 reduce-only MU sell orders between $1,050 and $1,080, totaling 15,000 units worth $15.975 million. Including earlier orders, its total MU reduce-only sell orders now stand at 186, spread across $1,049 to $1,080, with a combined value of about $20.454 million. Those orders cover the wallet’s full 19,257.65-unit MU long position. MU was last quoted at about $1,023.2, meaning the price would need to rebound roughly 2.5% to 5.6% to reach the take-profit range.

U.S. stocks fall for a third day as Treasury buyback misses expectations; Meta jumps 6.55% on Muse launch

U.S. stocks closed lower for a third straight session on Wednesday, with pressure coming from two fronts: a smaller-than-expected long-dated Treasury buyback and a fresh jump in oil prices. The Dow fell 0.77% to 52,380.66, the S&P 500 slipped 0.48% to 7,636.36, and the Nasdaq dropped 0.64% to 26,253.340, while the VIX rose about 4.4% to 16.41. The U.S. Treasury said it would repurchase up to $6 billion of 10-year to 20-year bonds, below the $7 billion to $8 billion range that some Wall Street investors had expected in a Bloomberg survey. That helped send the 10-year yield to an intraday high of 4.849%, its highest level since November 2023, while the 30-year yield climbed to 5.291% and the 2-year yield hit a 52-week high.\n\nOil added to the pressure after Brent crude settled at $101.21 a barrel and WTI at $96.05, both reaching their highest levels since May. Energy was the only S&P 500 sector to finish higher. Big tech names mostly fell, but Meta rose 6.55% after unveiling its AI assistant Muse. Storage and optical communications shares also advanced, with SK Hynix rising 7.05% to a record high. Apple, which slipped 0.28%, introduced its first foldable flagship phone, the iPhone Duo, priced from $1,999 globally and RMB 15,999 in China. Bitcoin traded around $79,200, up about 1% over 24 hours, while ether was near $2,500.
