Alibaba tests Looogen AI filmmaking platform with local deployment options

Alibaba is testing an AI filmmaking platform called Looogen, according to a report cited by ChainCatcher from Dujia. The product, branded with the slogan "Logical stories, complete films," is positioned as a local agent for short drama and video production. It can handle episode breakdowns, shot design, character and scene asset generation, voice and music production, final video creation, and management of multi-episode material packs and studio assets through conversational prompts. The platform also supports white-model previsualization and video expansion. Looogen offers a desktop client and local execution on Windows and macOS, including both Intel and Apple silicon devices. It also supports private deployment and access to users' own model channels. Alibaba is storing creative sessions, generated assets, and finished outputs on local devices, forming what the report described as a local closed loop for data and copyright. The current test build includes multiple models such as Seedance 2.0 and supports 21:9, 16:9, and 9:16 formats at resolutions from 480P to 1080P. The product remains in internal testing, and its features and pricing may still change.
