Prime Intellect raises $130 million in Series A backed by NVIDIA and Intel

Prime Intellect, an open AI lab, said it has raised $130 million in a Series A round, bringing its total funding to more than $150 million. The round was led by Radical Ventures, with participation from NVIDIA Ventures, Intel Capital, Dell Technologies Capital, existing investors, and a group of angel investors tied to major AI and software companies. The company said the new capital will be used to build an open superintelligence technology stack and support a more decentralized model for AI development. Prime Intellect focuses on infrastructure for large-scale reinforcement learning, including compute, environment design, sandbox testing, evaluation, and deployment. It said the platform has attracted more than 6,000 customers and crossed $100 million in annual recurring revenue within a year. The company also highlighted work on Recursive Language Models, or RLMs, arguing that the approach can better handle long-horizon tasks by managing context and coordinating sub-agents. In its technical manifesto, Prime Intellect said open-source systems can help prevent AI development from being controlled by a small number of institutions.
