BONER-HIMS pool on Robinhood Chain highlights a new DeFi market for tokenized stocks
Robinhood Chain is becoming a testing ground for one of DeFi’s stranger market structures: pairing tokenized equities with crypto-native assets such as memecoins. Cointelegraph reports that HIMS, a token designed to track shares of telehealth company Hims & Hers listed on the New York Stock Exchange, was paired in a liquidity pool with BONER, a deliberately absurd memecoin. Traders could swap directly between the two assets, and at one stage the pool held 31,198 HIMS tokens, more than half of the 58,714 tokenized HIMS shares in circulation. That imbalance briefly pushed the Robinhood Chain price of HIMS to $132.64, compared with the real stock’s $28.84 closing price on the NYSE. The article says Robinhood Chain, less than three months after launch, has already seen pairings such as BONER/HIMS, AI/NVIDIA and SPACEHOOD/SPCX. It also notes that launchpad LONG said its stock-paired markets recorded more than $425 million in 24-hour volume on Sept. 2, with nearly $12 million locked in stock-token liquidity. The piece frames the development as a composability experiment for tokenized real-world assets rather than a settled mechanism for price discovery.
