VivoPower exits $5 million Ripple stake and drops crypto asset strategy

VivoPower PLC, a UK-listed company, disclosed in its annual report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it has exited a $5 million equity position in Ripple Labs and ended its crypto asset strategy, shifting its focus to AI infrastructure. The filing adds detail to a plan the company announced in May 2025, when it said it could allocate up to $100 million to XRP and Ripple Labs equity. According to the report, VivoPower ultimately purchased 41,810 Ripple Labs shares for $5 million in January 2026. In April 2026, Ripple Labs bought back 882 shares at $300 per share, generating $264,600 in cash for VivoPower. The economic rights tied to the remaining shares are planned to be sold to a South Korean institution, with the valuation reduced to $4.3 million. The update was reported by Techub, citing U.Today.
