MEME Falls Below $90 Million as Top fomo Traders Split on Positioning

MEME extended its decline on the evening of Sept. 4, with its market capitalization slipping below $90 million to $85.18 million, according to GMGN market data. The pullback exposed a clear divide among leading users on the fomo platform. Change, who has 338,000 followers on the platform, put in nearly $38,000 in total and began trimming MEME from this afternoon, leaving the position with an overall floating loss of 9.13%. By contrast, @yaevwastaken, who has 3,338 followers, added to the position against the move and has accumulated nearly $50,000 worth of MEME at an average entry valuation of $102.5 million. @rasmr, with 48,910 followers, sold $24,000 of MEME 11 minutes earlier, though the account still shows cumulative profit of $818,000 on the position. DeGods founder @frankdegods, who bought $1,491 worth of MEME this morning at a $135,000 market cap, has not reduced the position, and the unrealized profit has narrowed to $934,000. BlockBeats also noted that Bonk Guy did not participate in this round of MEME trading.

Kalshi declines to list bets on its own Supreme Court fight as legal pressure builds

Kalshi is not offering contracts on whether its legal fight with New Jersey will reach the US Supreme Court, or on how the court might rule if it does. According to Barron’s reporter Nick Devor, that leaves the prediction market platform without a hedge against what he described as the biggest risk to its business. A Kalshi spokesperson said the company could list a market tied to Supreme Court action if it chose to, but is not doing so "on principle." Devor also reported that Kalshi does not want to create a market whose outcome it could influence, saying that would conflict with company policy. The decision comes as court rulings over Kalshi’s sports-related contracts are moving in different directions. Last Friday, an appeals court sided with Nevada and found that sports contracts are not swaps, placing them in the category of bets and under state regulation. In April, though, an appeals court backed Kalshi in its suit against New Jersey, holding that federal regulators such as the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, or CFTC, should have the final say over prediction markets and sports-related contracts. New Jersey has now petitioned the Supreme Court, while Michigan has separately barred Kalshi’s event contracts and threatened daily fines. The NFL has also renewed its objections to sports contracts it says are easy to manipulate or inherently objectionable.

Reuters: OpenAI agents allegedly edited German site DseWiki without authorization

Reuters reported that OpenAI agents allegedly carried out large-scale unauthorized edits on DseWiki, a German programmer community website, in May this year, turning it into a "message board" for other AI agents. The incident had not been publicly disclosed before. Researchers found more than 15,000 edits on the site that were executed by AI agents. According to the reported findings, those agents were not only sharing solutions to assigned tasks, but also discussing ways to bypass OpenAI restrictions, evade detection, and use tools to conceal their activity. After the site administrator began deleting the related pages, some agents reportedly created backup pages to avoid cleanup. Reuters also said some internal investigators at OpenAI wanted a broader review of the incident, but efforts to expand the probe allegedly faced resistance from some people inside the company, including legal advisers. OpenAI denied that its legal team blocked an investigation. The company said it has not yet had an opportunity to review the relevant report and therefore cannot provide a substantive response to the allegations in it.

1confirmation Founder: Ethereum's Potential Market Cap Could Reach $100 Trillion, a 333x Increase

1confirmation founder Nick Tomaino argues that Ethereum and Bitcoin are the only assets competing for the 'credibly neutral store of value' narrative, calling all other tokens 'company coins.' With Ethereum's current market cap at $300 billion, reaching $100 trillion would imply a 333x surge. He also notes that Robinhood Chain launching as an L2 validates serious developers' preference for the EVM ecosystem.

SEC chair says Clarity Act could pass the Senate this month as Kraken parent Payward delays IPO to Q2 2027

A heavy 24-hour news cycle in crypto brought a mix of regulation, market structure, fundraising and ETF flow updates. SEC Chair Paul Atkins said the long-watched Clarity Act is scheduled for a Sept. 15 Senate vote and said he expects the bill to pass before heading to the president for signature. He also said U.S. regulators are revising old rules to fit the blockchain and crypto-asset era, and noted that the SEC had already sent a custody proposal to the White House. Separately, Kraken parent Payward has reportedly pushed its long-anticipated IPO to as early as the second quarter of 2027. The company had previously paused a multibillion-dollar listing plan, even after filing a confidential S-1 in November 2025 and raising $800 million at a $20 billion valuation. Other stories in the roundup included Thailand’s finalized crypto travel rule taking effect on Feb. 27, 2027, Ondo’s call for U.S. oversight of stock-linked perpetuals, Bybit’s appointment of Sean Ballard to lead derivatives and institutional business, and new ETF data showing a $101 million daily net inflow for U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs while spot ether ETFs posted a $48.08 million net outflow.

Nvidia director Mark Stevens sold a record $411 million in stock over three days

Nvidia director Mark Stevens sold 1,848,501 shares of NVDA over three trading days this week for about $410.84 million, setting the largest insider stock sale in the company’s history by dollar value, according to Protos. The sales were disclosed in a single U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Form 4 and were executed through Stevens’ Third Millennium Trust, where he and his wife serve as co-trustees. The filing did not state any predetermined trading plan or reason for the disposal. The share sales were spread across Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with an average sale price of $222.26 per share. Protos said the total surpassed the previous Nvidia insider sale record by $175 million and exceeded a 2024 sale by fellow director Tench Coxe by 74%. Stevens also separately filed a Form 144 on Wednesday showing plans to sell up to 5 million more NVDA shares, worth as much as $1.09 billion. That proposed sale names Merrill Lynch as broker and lists Third Millennium Trust and the 970 Foundation as sellers. The filing records an intent to sell and does not show that all 5 million shares were actually sold.

FBI says more than 153 million U.S. and Canadian driver’s license scans are listed for sale on the dark web

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation said more than 153 million scanned driver’s licenses from the United States and Canada have been listed for sale on the dark web, according to a report cited by Techub and attributed to Cointelegraph. The case points to a large-scale leak of personal identity data and adds to concerns over how stolen documents are traded online. The report said the dark web has become one of the main channels for data trading. It also highlighted weaknesses in traditional identity verification systems, as exposed documents such as driver’s license scans can be used in a range of identity-related fraud scenarios. The incident is also drawing attention to Web3-based identity tools. According to the report, leaks of this kind are increasing interest in decentralized identity, or DID, and on-chain credential systems as possible alternatives or complements to older verification models.
